Unleash your lawn’s potential

Grover Turf Care is West Knoxville’s premier choice for turf care.
Cultivate a lawn you’re proud to call home.

Why turf care?

Mowing keeps your grass trim, but it doesn’t address your lawn’s health. A regular fertilizing routine replenishes the soil with vital nutrients, giving you lush, bountiful grass that better resists insect damage and the effects of extreme heat.

Fertilization

Grover adds essential nutrients to the soil to promote healthy grass growth. Fertilization also enhances lawn color, density, and resilience against diseases and pests.

Aeration

We perforate soil with small holes to reduce compaction, improving air, water, and nutrient flow. This promotes healthier turf and reduces thatch.

Soil Correction

Our team modifies soil conditions to create an ideal environment for robust grass growth. It includes pH adjustments, organic matter addition, and nutrient supplementation.

Weed Control

Grover Turf Care experts control and prevent unwanted plant growth in lawns by selectively applying herbicides. We eliminate weeds while preserving desired grass species.

Pest Control

We manage harmful insects, fungi, and diseases. This safeguarding of grass health may entail using pesticides or other control measures.

Our Process

We start by applying a pre-emergent weed preventer that forms a barrier in the soil, stopping weed seeds from sprouting. Next, we use a post-emergent control to eliminate any existing weeds. Finally, we add a fertilizer that activates with warmer soil temperatures to promote early grass growth, giving your lawn a strong start.

We continue treatment in late spring with three applications: a second round of pre-emergent herbicide to prevent grassy weeds, post-emergent control for late-germinating broadleaf weeds, and a low-rate, slow-release nitrogen fertilizer with micronutrients to strengthen roots and leaves for summer.
In early summer, we apply preventative fungicides and insecticides that target grub worms and brown patch disease. We also spread a low-rate nitrogen fertilizer with micronutrients to enhance plant health and maintain turf color.
We apply weed control and balanced fertilizer in summer to target stubborn weeds such as crabgrass and sedge grasses. This includes a micronutrient package and iron for a dark green color. Our technicians also scout for insects or diseases and recommend actions if needed.
For turf care treatment in late summer, we conduct final scouting and spot-spray for grass and sedge weeds. We also apply a micronutrient fertilizer and low-rate nitrogen to help your lawn recover from summer heat and humidity.
During the fall, we apply a balanced fertilizer to promote lasting winter color and a final herbicide treatment to eradicate young, actively growing broadleaf weeds. This ensures your lawn remains healthy and vibrant while cooler weather moves in.

At Grover, we offer additional turf care services to keep your lawn healthy. We provide fungicide treatments to combat turf diseases caused by Tennessee’s hot, humid summers.

For insect infestations, we offer environmentally safe preventative and curative insecticides. In the fall, we recommend aeration and overseeding with tall Fescue turf to relieve soil compaction and promote healthy growth.

Frequently Asked Questions

What areas do you service?

We primarily service West Knoxville neighborhoods and surrounding cities, including Sequoyah Hills, Rocky Hill, Northshore, Farragut, Lenoir City, Tellico, and Hardin Valley. We’ll travel for the right partnership — please call us if your home is outside of this region.

Do you use only organic products?

Grover offers both fully organic and golf-course quality turf care packages. While all of our products are chosen with environmental sustainability in mind, it’s important to note that some of the most effective weed killers don’t meet the EPA requirements for an organic herbicide label. Our goal is to build a healthy, thriving lawn. We don’t use products with harmful chemicals that would work against that goal.

Does Grover include lawn mowing, trim, and clean-up?

Grover is primarily focused on turf care. For mowing, landscaping, and clean-up, we’ll gladly refer you to our sister company, Bright Grove Landscaping.

There are many turf care companies. What makes Grover different?

We specialize in turf care science and are led by an expert with a degree in horticulture and turfgrass management. Our fertilization approach is based on soil studies to address underlying nutritional deficiencies that prevent a lush, thriving lawn. Turf care is absolutely a business where you get what you pay for, and we invest in only the finest products and experienced technicians.

Do you offer discounts?

We can offer a paid-in-full discount at the start of the season, but generally we are not a “discount” lawn service provider. We pay our service experts fair wages and source the best fertilizing agents for premium results. If you want a cheap lawn care company that gives you cheap results, that’s not us.

The lawn you’re proud to call home

We believe your turf is an extension of your residence. This is the lawn where your kids play, your pets explore, and you enjoy moments of natural tranquility. Choose the best care for the space you call home.
