Discover our exceptional lawn service, where function meets beauty. Our team of experts works with you to determine the best turf care plan to meet your needs and more.
We all know the weather can be fickle in East Tennessee. Sometimes grass grows faster than you know what to do with it, then in other months, it’s everything you can do just to keep the lawn green. At Bright Grove, we take a measured approach to lawn care. You’re never just one more address to check off our list.
We consider the season and your landscaping goals to make professional recommendations for the best mowing and trim schedule. Our team is led by a golf course superintendent who applies golf course maintenance techniques to creating your custom turf care program.
Our reliable zero-turn mowers and well-maintained trimming equipment provide an efficient, even cut every time.
Fertilizer is nutrition for your grass. As a certified applicator (charter #5502), we recommend a herbicide application schedule that strengthens your lawn, keeps your turf weed free, and meets your budget.
We bring green to all parts of your property. If you have a trouble spot that just won’t grow, call Bright Grove!
First is a grassy/broadleaf weed prevention. This product will form a barrier in the soil, so when weed seeds germinate, they will hit this barrier and not be able to emerge from the soil. Thus, the name pre-emergent.
Second is a post-emergent control. This component will eliminate any weeds that have emerged during the winter months. These are known mostly as your “broadleaf” weeds, such as dandelions, henbit, and clover.
Finally is fertilizer application. Our fertilizer is formulated to adhere to the soil and be released to the plants when soil temperatures increase and the grass begins to “green up. ” This will allow your turf to grow roots and leaf material early and give your lawn the head start it needs.
We once again combine a second application of pre-emergent herbicide to prevent grassy weeds such as crabgrass and goosegrass and a second application of post-emergent for any “broadleaf” weeds that may have germinated later.
We also apply a lower rate of Nitrogen slow-release fertilizer for sustained healthy growth and a micro-nutrient package to strengthen the plant’s roots and leaves as we move into the summer stress period.
It is designed to control any of the more noxious weeds that may have broken through the barrier, such as crabgrass and sedge grasses.
We combine the herbicide with a micro-nutrient package for overall plant nutrition and an Iron product to keep the plant dark green.
Our technicians also use this application to scout for possible insect or disease presence, as they often show during times of high stress, and can suggest what form of action to take if any of these challenges are noted.
We will also provide once again a micro-nutrient fertilizer and a lower rate of nitrogen to start increasing recovery from any summer stress caused by heat and humidity.
This fertilizer will encourage lasting winter color as we move into winter and take care of any weeds that are young and still actively growing.
Summers can be extremely hot and humid in Tennessee, which is the number one cause of turf disease in Fescue grass. Our goal is to make your turf as healthy as possible so that it can resist disease on its own. Still, environmental factors can be so extreme that we can offer preventative and curative measures to deal with these diseases.
As we make your lawn healthier, we also increase its ability to stave off insect infestations. This, too, can be conditional based on yearly environmental differences. If we see higher insect populations, we can once again offer both preventative and curative options that will be safe for the environment and only target the intended pests.
The fall is the perfect time to aerate and over-seed with a turf-type tall Fescue. This provides seeds for areas that may have become thin from summer stress and relieve soil compaction. Mechanical aeration also improves water infiltration and exchange of gases (oxygen, carbon dioxide) and provides a zone for improved seed-to-soil contact. This is done in conjunction with a starter fertilizer as well.
